Beach nudity is certainly not a matter only of girls, but also of 75 year old women who have not much to offer and just want to get a lot of sun. It takes some getting used to.
As to the other, since many of these scamps are avoiding a tax or another, hiding assets from relatives or planning a little spree without the spouse, privacy in those areas is blessed. When there's nothing at risk, they don't really have an Italian word for it. Riservatezza is as close as they come, but like the Romans, not that big a deal.

Yes, you are right Judith - privacy laws are used as a form of 'risk management' here.
