I've had some hellish neighbours in the past, for example, clouds of dope smoke wafting across our garden as our babies play outside.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We are VERY lucky with our apartment in Rome, however. We all have marble floors but we rarely hear a thing from our upstairs neighbours.
